We’re delighted to be celebrating the second birthday of Dream The Change, CIC.
Join in the celebrations with us by sending us your testimonials about how we have helped you!
We think we’ve achieved a lot since we were founded to act as an empowered hub for families who have children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), from diverse backgrounds, especially from Black Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) groups.
Our dream at the start was to make a positive change in the lives of families of children with SEND and for two years we've been doing just that, acting as a voice to bridge the gap between you and service providers in Essex, and surrounding areas.
Since December 2019, we've distributed sensory aids or toys, run training workshops, organised local walks and excursions to several attractions in Essex, Suffolk and London and held Parent tea groups, so we can provide support, advise each other and share our experiences to help to build resilience.
We've seen how frustrated our kids get and organised sports and craft activities for them. We also know first-hand how challenging it is being a parent/carer of a child with SEND and so we’ve recently started to organise dance sessions for you to help improve your well-being and get fitter.
To mark our second birthday, we organised a competition asking 5 to 14-year-olds connected with Dream The Change, CIC to design an image for a tee-shirt that represents what Dream The Change means for them. The winner will be announced at the beginning of 2022 and their winning design will be printed on tee-shirts that we will distribute to those connected with us.
None of our work would have been possible without the help of our funders and sponsors. Thank you to:
Dream The Change has been striving to influence decision-makers to improve support and services for SEND children and we believe we've already started to improve the quality of life for all of those connected with us.
You can play a part by helping us to continue to do that by joining us or by acting as a volunteer or sponsoring us.
