We’re going to keep you dancing because your kids love it!

Dream The Change CIC is planning to organise more online dance sessions for families with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) connected with us.

The sessions have proven to be so successful that several parents have thanked us and we are planning to invite instructor Charlotte Foxley to host some more diddi dance North Essex & South Suffolk sessions for us online.

This is being made possible thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund and Essex Community Foundation. This funding is enabling us to hold online

The sessions comprise of a welcome, a movement section to warm up, a simple routine, then use of a variety of props and cool down before saying goodbye.
During the sessions, the children were given a bag of props (bouncy balls, a wiggly worm, scarves, etc.) by Dream The Change to dance with during the twice weekly sessions.

Jemal Allabayeva, co-founder of Dream The Change said, "Children enjoyed the Diddi Dance sessions so much! They jumped and danced and responded really well in the sessions. Even parents who worried their children would not be able to follow an online session were surprised by them engaging so well. It was a lot of fun, so we are planning to hold more sessions."

We’ve had lots of feedback from parents.

One Dad said, "Many thanks to Dream The Change CIC. My daughter loved the Hula Hoop rings. She still puts them around her waist and turns around. Although she was reluctant to join the sessions at first, her brother enjoyed the sessions and waited for them. "

A mother said, "My daughter was at a face-to-face session with a Diddi Dance instructor before and she did not like it, but when she had the sessions online she enjoyed them a lot and waited for the next session, it was a nice experience for her. Thanks."

Another parent said, "Thank you for organising these events. It was worth trying an online activity which I wouldn't have booked otherwise, but the children enjoyed it a lot."

Instructor Charlotte has been involved with Diddi Dance for 7 years now but specifically running SEN sessions for the past 3 years.

She said, "My eldest son has SEN and I felt that a varied approach was needed to include everyone in movement regardless of their ability and to offer a safe, friendly environment.

“Dancing online might seem daunting to you, but it has worked well for my other group - it just takes time and a willingness to give it a go!”

We will post on our Facebook page the dates of our next Diddi Dance sessions when they have been booked. If you would like to book a place, email: dreamthechangecic@protonmail.com
